INGLESIDE – Police have closed Highway 401 in both directions, west of Cornwall, as South Stormont firefighters are putting out a truck fire on Highway 401 between Ingleside and Long Sault.
The truck caught fire around 2 p.m. in the eastbound lanes around mile marker 774, between Dickinson Drive and Moulinette Road.
It’s causing clouds of black smoke and also caught the tinder-dry grass along the highway on fire.
SD&G O.P.P. have closed the highway in both directions (updated from only eastbound lanes) while South Stormont firefighters work at the scene.
There are no reported injuries.
#SDGOPP officers are currently on #401 for a tractor trailer fire.
