Arrest in robbery at North Glengarry gas station

ALEXANDRIA – A South Glengarry man is facing a slew of charges after a robbery at a gas station in Alexandria.

Police say a person went into MacEwen Gas on Main Street on Friday night (March 26) and demanded cash from the clerk.

“The accused stated he had a firearm, but (one) was not shown before fleeing in a vehicle,” SD&G O.P.P. said.

Police caught up with the suspect after he crashed in a ditch on County Road 34.

It turns out the vehicle was stolen and had a number of stolen items in it, including a gun.

A 20-year-old South Glengarry man is facing 10 charges, including robbery, dangerous driving, flight from police and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
