Handguns found during Highway 401 stop near Cornwall

SOUTH STORMONT – Two loaded handguns have been seized by police after a traffic stop on Highway 401, west of Cornwall.

SD&G O.P.P. say they stopped a vehicle Thursday afternoon and found two handguns with loaded magazines as well as a stash of cash and stolen credit cards.

Members of the O.P.P. Community Street Crime Unit and the Emergency Response Team were also involved in the stop.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth – both from Montreal – are facing various weapons and illegal possession charges.
