Snowmobile through ice mystery near Bainsville; police seek public help

BAINSVILLE – Provincial police are looking for help after receiving a report about a snowmobile going through the ice on the St. Lawrence River Saturday night.

SD&G O.P.P. say a witness reported a snowmobile going through the ice around 9 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 30) “in the Bainsville area near Saint Anicet (Que.).”

Police went to the scene and used a drone but couldn’t find anything or any evidence of someone breaking through the ice.
