Students head back to class Monday

BROCKVILLE – Students will be heading back to class as early as Monday.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced today that nine school boards will resume in-person learning as of Monday, Feb. 1.

In the Eastern Ontario Health Unit area, they include the Upper Canada District School Board, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario as well as the French Public and Catholic boards.

Monday is a professional activity (PA) day for the UCDSB and the CDSBEO, meaning students would likely start as early as Tuesday.

The ministry says those boards will also be able to resume before and after school child care programs with emergency child care ending on Friday (Jan. 29).

Students have been out of class since the holiday break in late December.
