
CORNWALL – City fire crews are dealing with a basement fire in a triplex on Fourth Street West.
The fire started around 10:10 a.m. (Saturday) in the building just east of York Street and fewer than two blocks away from the fire station.
Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and Cornwall police were also called to the scene.
Firefighters were able to bring the basement fire under control about 20 minutes later.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire as the building is still a working fire scene.
A section of Fourth Street West from York Street to Augustus Street is closed to traffic (as of 10:45 a.m.).
