CORNWALL – The City of Cornwall is dealing with its first confirmed case of COVID-19 among its employees.

An employee tested positive for the virus and is now in isolation with their family, the city said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

While not disclosing the department, the corporation did say the “employee does not interact with the public” and was in a facility with no public access.

“The employee’s work space is equipped with barriers to minimize contact with coworkers,” the city added.

Sanitizing of the work space and contact tracing are underway.

Cornwall added another three confirmed positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday to bring its total to 90 cases with 43 active. Across the entire region, there are now 668 confirmed cases – eight more than Wednesday.
