CORNWALL – The Upper Canada District School Board says it has notified parents, students and staff that someone at Bridgewood Public School has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has contacted all potential high risk exposure contacts of the infected person at the Nick Kaneb Drive school.
The board does not release whether it was a staff member or a student and that information is not yet available on the Ontario Public Health website. It typically won’t show up for one or two days.
The UCDSB says there will be no change to the school schedule or daily operations.
Bridgewood Public School is a Grade JK-6 school with approximately 500 students. (This has been corrected from Grade 7-12 previously reported.)
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit area added 10 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases Wednesday – two in Cornwall and eight in Prescott-Russell – bringing the regional total of confirmed positive cases to 571.
