Victim identified in Highway 401 crash near Morrisburg

MORRISBURG – A Cornwall man has been identified as the victim in Thursday’s crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 401, east of Morrisburg.

SD&G O.P.P. say Richard Hesse-Andre, 22, of Cornwall was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with a transport truck just before 5 p.m. on a section of the highway between Upper Canada Road and Dickinson Drive.

Another passenger and the driver were treated at hospital for their injuries.

The truck driver was not hurt.

The westbound lanes of the Highway 401 were closed between Dickinson Drive in Ingleside and Upper Canada Road in South Dundas for the night for a police investigation and reopened at 3 a.m. Friday.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
