LONG SAULT – After meeting virtually since March, South Stormont council is ready to get back together in person, albeit socially distanced.
Council agreed Wednesday afternoon to try it out at its next committee of the whole meeting on Tuesday (June 16) at the Long Sault municipal office council chambers.
While councillors will be in the room, the public isn’t invited. They will still be able to watch it via live stream or watch the recording later.
Coun. Jennifer MacIsaac had no issue meeting in person and says being face-to-face brings a “different element” to a council discussion. “I’m missing those discussions that we have face-to-face.”
All of council agreed to the in-person meeting provided everyone is two meters (six feet) apart and respected those who choose to still connect virtually.
