Woman accused of defrauding Cornwall business

CORNWALL – A woman from Long Sault, accused of defrauding a Cornwall business, is scheduled to appear in a city courtroom next month.

Carol Hemond, 67, is charged with fraud over $5,000 and uttering forged documents.

Cornwall police allege the woman had been siphoning money from the Brookdale Avenue business between 1992 and 2018.

Police did not disclose the name of the business nor how much money in total was stolen.

Her first appearance date is July 23.
