Cornwall man charged with attempted murder

CORNWALL – A Cornwall man is facing 11 criminal charges including attempted murder after a stabbing outside a Race Street building.

City police say a local man had threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, his ex-girlfriend’s sister and another 30-year-old man that he knew.

Just after 1 a.m. this morning (May 25) a fight near 55 Race Street ended with the 30-year-old man being stabbed. He’s in serious but stable condition at Cornwall Community Hospital.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Cornwall man. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon plus five counts of breaching court conditions.

The accused, who police are not naming to protect the victims’ identities, was held for a bail hearing.
