Weapons seized in Chesterville bust

CHESTERVILLE – Provincial police have seized a cache of weapons and drugs after a bust in Chesterville.

Members of the O.P.P. Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit moved in on a home on Queen Street West on Friday morning (Apr 27).

Officers found crystal meth, some other pills, two rifles, a .22-caliber rifle, three BB guns, ammunition, a bow and arrow, a sword, cell phone and scales.

“The BB guns and 22 (.22-caliber rifle) resemble higher caliber weapons,” police said.

A 42-year-old Chesterville man is facing six weapons-related charges, one count of possession of stolen property, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Two other people in the home at the time of the bust were release unconditionally.
