CORNWALL, SD&G, PRESCOTT-RUSSELL – The number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases jumped by nine Saturday afternoon in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit region.
The EOHU reported 58 cases – up from 49 earlier in the day – in Cornwall, SD&G and Prescott-Russell.
As promised by Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, staff have also added additional statistics.
Of the 58 cases, seven are currently hospitalized, three are in ICU and 29 people have recovered. Nobody has died. The balance of the cases are presumably people symptomatic who are isolating at home though the health unit doesn’t account for those cases.
A breakdown by age and gender shows the cases are predominately both men and women in their 50s and 60s.
