ALEXANDRIA – The Ontario Fire Marshal and the coroner have been called in after firefighters found a man’s body inside a burning home in North Glengarry this morning (Friday).
SD&G O.P.P. say their officers were called around 5:40 a.m. to a house on fire on County Road 34.
North Glengarry firefighters were able to put out the fire.
“It was reported that there was a person inside the structure. Further investigation led to the discovery of a deceased victim inside the house,” the O.P.P. said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not been identified.
This is the second deadly house fire this year in North Glengarry. Another man died in late January after his body was found inside a garage on Lochiel Street East in Alexandria.
