TORONTO – A Berwick man thought he won just $100.

But Rodney Beckstead had to add three more zeroes because, it turned out, the self-employed landscaper and handyman won $100,000 on Encore.

He matched six of seven numbers in a Jan. 28, 2020 Lotto Max draw.

“I was trembling. I’m so excited and happy!” he told Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation officials.

The 50-year-old plans to put the money into his business.

The winning ticket was bought at Petro Canada on Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall.
