CORNWALL – A Cornwall man who attacked another man with bear spray and threatened him with a BB gun in December 2018 will be spending another three months in jail.

Just over a year after the attack, 29-year-old Taylor Bergeron was sentenced after he was found guilty on four of the nine charges he was facing.

Those were assault causing bodily harm, possession of a dangerous weapon, administering a noxious substance and breaching a court order, according to court records.

The case was scheduled for a trial in Alexandria on Dec. 18, 2019.

The sentence is relatively short because Bergeron was given enhanced credit for pretrial custody of 10 months, credited and one-and-a-half times, for a total of 15 months.

Bergeron is also banned from owning or having weapons for 25 years and will be on probation for three years following his sentence.

The victim, who Bergeron knew, was attacked in his Cornwall home just after midnight on Dec. 4, 2018, where he had a BB pointed at him before he was doused with bear spray.

Police never outlined nor do court records show the motive for the attack.
