BROCKVILLE – The region’s largest school board says its schools will remain open as elementary and high school teachers begin a work to rule campaign.

The job action is scheduled to start Tuesday (Nov. 26).

The Upper Canada District School Board says phase one of the job action will include teachers not doing administrative duties and they won’t participate in staff development and training.

“The UCDSB does not expect a direct impact to program delivery, student learning or their school experience,” the board said in an update on its website.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario are in the midst to trying to strike a deal with the Ontario government.

Both unions filed a “no board report” in early November, starting the clock for a 17 day cooling off period before they were in a legal strike position.
