SD&G – South Glengarry Mayor Frank Prevost has been confirmed as next year’s warden for SD&G.

County council voted Monday to appoint Prevost to lead the upper-tier government in 2020.

“I want to thank councillor (Lyle) Warden and councillor (Tony) Fraser for moving and seconding my nomination. I just want to thank my colleagues around the table for giving me the opportunity. It’s a special year for me as it’s based on 20 years when I was the warden before so it’s a special year for that,” he said.

“I look forward to replacing Mr. (Jamie) MacDonald as soon as possible,” Prevost joked, as the chamber erupted in laughter and clapping.

An inauguration ceremony will be held Friday, Dec. 13.
