Two SD&G paramedics to receive Ontario service awards

WINDSOR, Ont. – Two paramedics from Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services will be given the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.

Scott Halliday and Randy Lalonde are among 115 paramedics receiving the award during the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs AGM and awards dinner tonight (Thursday) at Caesars Windsor.

The award, created in 1994, is presented to paramedics who have served at least 20 years – at least half of those at “street level” – exhibiting the highest standards of conduct and professionalism.

Halliday and Lalonde won’t be at the ceremony tonight but will receive their medals later in Eastern Ontario, Halliday told Cornwall Newswatch.
