CORNWALL – An Alexandria teenager is facing a charge of mischief after a fire sprinkler was damaged inside the Cornwall courthouse Monday morning.

The broken sprinkler in the holding cell area set off the fire alarm in the building at 29 Second Street West, prompting an evacuation around 11 a.m.

The 16-year-old boy was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

The courthouse went back to normal business shortly after Cornwall Fire Services inspected the building.
