CORNWALL – Police officers fanned out across a Cornwall neighbourhood Friday afternoon after a fight where one person ran from the scene.
Cornwall Police Service spokesman Stephanie MacRae told Cornwall Newswatch there was an “altercation” around noon today between two people.
“Police attended in an attempt to locate one of the individuals who had fled the area, resulting in the heavy police presence,” MacRae said.
The suspect is in custody and public safety is not at risk, she said.
A CPS forensics investigator was on the scene on Guy Street, just north of Walton Street, combing over the interior of a Honda Civic.
Shortly after investigators were done, an older man with a cane – one of his arms bandaged – picked up the vehicle accompanied by a woman, who took multiple pictures of a minivan parked just ahead of Honda Civic.
MacRae said Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services was on scene as a precaution but could not confirm whether there was a victim or if anyone was hurt because it’s still early on in the investigation.
