AKWESASNE – Akwesasne Mohawk Police are investigating a death on Sunday in St. Regis.
Police and paramedics were called to a home on Kateri Tekakwitha Street in the early morning hours yesterday (Sunday) where they found a 58-year-old man with “an unknown injury.”
The Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance took the victim to the Cornwall Community Hospital. He was later airlifted to hospital in Ottawa where he died of his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Jeffrey Allen Lazore-Arquette.
Police are treating the death as a homicide.
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police and the identification unit with Quebec Provincial Police are holding the scene for an investigation.
