Federal minister touring Akwesasne with grand chief

AKWESASNE – Federal Indigenous Services Minister Seamus O’Regan is touring Akwesasne today (Thursday).

O’Regan is meeting with Grand Chief Abram Benedict this afternoon and taking a tour of the community.

Press Secretary Kevin Deagle told Cornwall Newswatch the meeting is a “general community visit” and there’s no specific announcement happening.

Deagle added that O’Regan and Benedict have been “communicating quite often” on various affairs.

The tour is expected to last about two hours.
