CORNWALL – Budding new business owners from Cornwall, SD&G and Akwesasne will be launching their ventures today (Friday) during an event at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

This year’s edition of Summer Company – a program run by the Cornwall Business Enterprise Center – will have seven students in the program.

They each get a $3,000 start-up grant and help with business training, mentoring and financial aid through the summer until the students return to school at the end of August.

The businesses this year include photography, tutoring services, jam making, a soup and candle maker, a Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and strategy dealer, canvas artwork and a novelty plushy business.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m.
