AVONMORE – The driver of a pickup truck has died after a head-on crash with a transport truck on County Road 43 this morning (Wednesday).
Provincial police say the pickup, heading east, crossed the center line where it collided with a tractor-trailer just before 9 a.m.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver, who was alone in their rig, was also taken to hospital and treated for serious non-life threatening injuries, police said.
No names have been released until family is notified.
A section of County Road 43, west of Avonmore, is closed for a police investigation and detours are in place at Fairview Road, Kyle Road and County Road 14.
