CORNWALL – Two men involved in a fight last year where a handgun was pointed will be spending some time in jail.
Robert Thibeault, 35, was sentenced on April 25 to a 60 day conditional sentence, commonly known as house arrest.
Thibeault pleaded guilty charges of possession of a weapon, breach of probation for possessing a weapon, and a second breach of probation charge.
He will also be on probation for a year-and-a-half and is banned from owning or having weapons for the rest of his life.
Thibeault and Mark Tyo got into a fight on April 28, 2018 where a handgun was pointed, police said.
Mark Tyo, 34, was given a similar sentence. In addition to this case, Tyo was found guilty on unrelated charges in relation to thefts from local businesses, including Canadian Tire, Food Basics and Walmart.
As part of his sentence, Tyo has a no-contact order in relation to Robert Thibeault.
Judge Franco Giamberardino heard both cases.
