CORNWALL – The city’s weekly newspaper has been sold to a company which bought several other titles from TC Transcontinental Inc. (TC Media) two years ago.

Icimedias is the buyer and the Seaway News’ 11 staff are being kept, the paper announced Wednesday. Icimedias plans to keep things as is.

Icimedias is owned by Renel Bouchard and Marc-Noel Ouellette, who bought 21 newspapers in small and medium sized centers from TC Transcontinental in November 2017.

Seaway News, founded in 1985 by Rick Shaver and Dick Aubry, and Cornwall Express were the only Ontario TC Media publications. TC owned the paper since 2008.

It was the last of 93 publications divested by the company, which started in April 2017.
