CORNWALL – A deputy fire chief from the City of Barrie will be the new deputy fire chief for Cornwall.

Jeff Weber will be starting in his new role on Monday, March 11, 2019.

Weber has been a firefighter since 1992 and a deputy fire chief for a dozen years, most recently in Barrie, about 100 kilometers north of Toronto.

He is described as a strong advocate for fire prevention projects.

He will be reporting to Fire Chief Pierre Voisine and the two have a bit in common, using unique ideas, including music, to push the fire prevention message. For example, this karaoke bit on smoke alarms:

Weber takes the spot of Bruce Donig, who left the fire department late last year to take a position in the City’s human resources department as a manager of employee relations.
