Highway 401 drivers start off new year with vehicles impounded

SD&G – The new year is not off to a good start for three drivers heading through SD&G on Highway 401.

Provincial police nabbed them on Wednesday and Thursday last week (Jan. 2-3) for excessive speeding through South Stormont and South Glengarry.

The three men – a 24-year-old from Toronto, a 33-year-old from the Philippines and a 49-year-old from Laval, Que. – were all charged with stunt driving.

Officers clocked them on radar at 154 to 168 kilometers an hour.

The men had their vehicles impounded and driver’s licences suspended for one week.
