CORNWALL – The United Way of SD&G says its signature Holiday Wine and Gourmet Tastings Event had “record attendance” and was the “most successful” to date.

While the agency announced its attendance was 550 this year, it won’t release how much money was raised.

“Much like our campaign, the board has made the decision to steer away from announcing a goal/total and focus on the impact that the United Way is making in the community, and the lives that we are changing,” Operations Director Meagan Bingley said in an email to Cornwall Newswatch.

The event raised $63,000 last year, $51,000 in 2016 and $48,000 in 2015.

This was the sixth year for the event.
