CORNWALL – City police have made in arrest following Thursday’s high profile downtown search that involved police officers searching both levels of Cornwall Square.

Police say a wallet and a cell phone were stolen from a vehicle parked near the mall yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Four cruisers were parked outside just after 1 p.m. as several officers searched inside the building.

Police were able to locate the suspect later on in the day (not in the mall) and arrested her. Officers also recovered the stolen cell phone during the arrest.

Laurel Kubecki, 35, of Cornwall is charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime. She will appear in court Dec. 27.
