SOUTH GLENGARRY – A South Glengarry woman, reported missing on Thursday, has been found dead, O.P.P. said Saturday.

SD&G O.P.P. were called around 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 13) after someone found the body of 26-year-old Emilie Maheu in an undisclosed location in the township.

“The identity of the person is confirmed to be that of Emilie Maheu, the missing female,” the O.P.P. said.

She was last spotted in Alexandria in North Glengarry around 1 p.m. Thursday. She was reported missing from a home on County Road 34 in South Glengarry at 8:30 p.m. that night.

An autopsy is being conducted later this week at the Ottawa General Hospital but, for now, police are treating it as a homicide.
