Update 3:50 p.m. Wednesday: The westbound lanes of the highway have reopened.
MORRISBURG – One person is dead after a crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in South Dundas Wednesday morning.
A section of the highway between Upper Canada Road (County Road 41) and County Road 31 is closed after the two vehicle collision around 9:30 a.m.
SD&G O.P.P. say a westbound tractor trailer collided with a passenger vehicle, travelling east in the westbound lanes.
The man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was not hurt.
The name of the victim is not being released until family is notified.
Emergency responders are on scene.
Eastbound traffic is unaffected.
