MORRISBURG – A body found by a person along the shore of the St. Lawrence River Sunday near Morrisburg is likely a young man who jumped off a bridge nearly 30 kilometers away, provincial police said Tuesday.

Grenville County O.P.P. and various law enforcement agencies conducted an extensive search on Thursday night (Sep. 6) and Friday morning after a man in his 20s jumped from the Prescott-Ogdensburg International Bridge.

On Sunday night, the O.P.P. were told about a person who found a body in the river near Morrisburg.

“The male located, matched the description of the 25 year old missing male, from Brampton, Ontario,” police said.

An autopsy is expected to confirm the identification.
