CORNWALL – A public meeting for candidates running for Cornwall City Council, scheduled for tonight (Thursday), has been abruptly cancelled.

The two-hour event was postponed “due to unfortunate circumstances,” councillor Mark MacDonald said in an email. The get-together at the Knights of Columbus was to be moderated by Todd Lalonde.

No alternate date has been set.

Some candidates had already indicated they would not be going for various reasons.

MacDonald had organized the event in order to talk about issues of concern and “ways you think that all of us can make Cornwall better.”
