Cornwall home invasion arrest

CORNWALL – An arrest has been made in connection to a violent home invasion a little over two weeks ago in the City of Cornwall.

A man entered a Guy Street home on May 5 and assaulted the occupant inside, hitting him with something, police said. The victim was then threatened with a knife and held captive while the assailant took items from the home.

The man had to get medical help for his injuries.

The victim and perpetrator did not know each other, police said.

Christopher Beaulieu, 43, of Rockland, Ont. was arrested Friday (May 18) and charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, threats, possession of a dangerous weapon, forcible confinement, robbery and breach of recognizance for possessing weapons.

He was held for a bail hearing.
