The following is a statement from local MP Guy Lauzon on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 on the death of Leeds-Grenville, Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Gord Brown:

Earlier this morning Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds – Grenville – Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, and the former Whip for the Conservative Party of Canada, passed away suddenly.

“I am incredibly saddened to learn of the sudden passing this morning of my good friend and colleague, Gord Brown. He was a wonderful Representative for his riding, a great friend and a great father and husband. He will be truly missed”, stated MP Guy Lauzon.

This is a significant loss for the Conservative family, and the House of Commons as whole. Our thoughts and prayers go to his wife and children, as well as to all who knew him.

The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
