LONG SAULT – A family-run grocery store in Ingleside has been named South Stormont’s Business of the Year.

Carol Delorme, the township’s chamber of commerce president, presented the Timmers family of Ingleside Foodland with a plaque during the mayor’s breakfast Friday morning (April 13).

The award recognizes a business that fosters the economic and social well being of South Stormont.

What’s made the Timmers’ business successful?

“I think it’s the love of the community. We live in a wonderful community and been there for over 20 years,” Martin Timmers said.

The Ingleside Foodland has 40 employees, who “are family to us.”

The grocery store went through an expansion in 2014, it’s fifth since it opened.

“They (chamber) say it’s for what we give to the community, it’s what the community gives to us, which is amazing. It’s our home,” Timmers said.

Fines Home Hardware received the Business of the Year award in 2017.
