SOUTH STORMONT – A truck driver came away largely unscathed after his rig rolled over on Headline Road (County Road 44), northeast of Cornwall, Monday afternoon.

The single vehicle crash happened near a curve in the road between County Road 42 and County Road 19 (Boundary Road).

Markings on the open-top box trailer on the transport truck identified it as belonging to a company from the Saguenay, Que. region and it was carrying a load of recycled metal.

A crew from Cornwall Towing was on scene shortly after to clean up the wrecked truck, which had extensive damage with most of the cab crushed in.

The driver is said to have minor injuries.

It’s not known what caused the crash.
