CORNWALL – A city woman has been charged with fraud, accused of defrauding the Ontario welfare system of more than $57,000.
Cornwall police arrested Suzanne Desnoyers, 44, yesterday (Monday) and charged her with one count of fraud over $5,000.
Police allege a woman failed to declare changes in her living arrangements to the Ontario Works Resource Center between 2009 and 2015, which resulted in an overall $57,655 overpayment.
Desnoyers will appear in a Cornwall court April 12.
