Mental hospital escapee may head to Alexandria: SQ

Update Jan. 24: Sean Brennan was located today (Wednesday) and arrested by Montreal police in LaSalle.

MONTREAL – Quebec provincial police say a man, who escaped from a mental hospital, may be heading to North Glengarry.

Sean Brennan, 29, was at the Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montreal – a psychiatric hospital for people accused of crimes and found to be not criminally responsible (NCR) due to mental disorder.

He was found NCR for stabbing a 41-year-old Pointe-Claire, Que man to death in 2011, as well as another attack on a person in 2013, according to CBC News.

Brennan left the Montreal hospital Monday afternoon (Jan. 22) and hasn’t been seen since.

He could be in the greater Montreal area or in the Alexandria area in North Glengarry.

He is 5-foot-11, 210 pounds with a shaved head, green eyes and is bilingual. He was last seen wearing a long black coat, gray jeans and a black short-sleeved shirt.

Surete du Quebec say Brennan can be a danger to himself and should not be approached. You’re urged to call 911 if you see him.
