CORNWALL – A former Cornwall financial adviser, already on trial, is facing additional fraud charges.
Gilles Saucier, 56, of Brampton, Ont. was arrested yesterday (Jan. 18).
Saucier was taken into custody as he was appearing at the Cornwall courthouse as part of his trial on multiple charges of fraud, breach of trust, uttering forged documents and theft by conversion.
He’s accused of defrauding investors of tens of thousands of dollars while he was the head of Gilden Financial Solutions Corporation of Cornwall.
The newest charges, laid Thursday, are single counts each of fraud over $5,000, breach of trust, misappropriation of funds and use of a forged document.
Saucier is accused of fraudulently obtaining money from an investment client and police were called in to investigate.
He was held for a bail hearing.
