AKWESASNE, N.Y. — Government workers with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe will be getting a raise in the new year.
The tribal council announced the minimum wage will be going up 45 cents to $11.48 U.S. an hour – higher than the New York State minimum wage.
It will affect 130 employees with the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, including those with salaries subsidized by the state or U.S. federal government.
The last time workers received a raise was in January 2016.
