Update 1 a.m.: The section of Highway 138 has reopened.
MOOSE CREEK – Highway 138 is closed in both directions near Moose Creek after a three vehicle crash.
SD&G O.P.P., Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and firefighters are on the scene at the moment, after the crash happened just after 8 p.m.
SD&G O.P.P. say a northbound passenger vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a southbound passenger vehicle. A second southbound vehicle also got caught up in the wreck, colliding with the first two vehicles.
The driver – a man and lone occupant of the northbound vehicle – and the driver and four passengers in the first southbound vehicle were taken to hospital. They are all said to have serious non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is not known as SD&G O.P.P. officers are still processing the scene.
Earlier, Acting EMS Chief Wayne Markell tweeted that they were dealing with multiple patients and paramedics were being challenged by the bitterly cold weather.

It’s not known when the highway, which is closed between McLean Road and Allaire Road, will reopen. Detours are in place.
