CORNWALL – Make sure not to park on the street overnight on Thursday night in Cornwall.

That’s when a winter overnight parking ban goes into effect from 1 a.m. until 7 a.m. on most city streets starting Friday (Dec. 15) regardless of the weather.

It’s slightly different for three areas: Pitt Street from Ninth to Water, Second Street from Augustus to Sydney and Montreal from Belmont to Gloucester. The restriction on those streets doesn’t kick in until 2 a.m.

The winter parking restrictions are in effect until March 31, 2018.

The fine for parking overnight is $25.

Parking overnight has been conditional based on snowfall since Nov. 15. Coincidentally,  there is an overnight parking restriction tonight (Monday) and tomorrow night due to the expected snow.
