MORRISBURG – Santa Claus made a stop in South Dundas this weekend.
It was a mild and overcast day, Saturday, as crowds lined the parade route in Morrisburg to see a number of floats from area businesses and organizations.
This was the 24th year for the parade along Augusta Street, First Street, Maude Street, Sir James Morris Drive, Fifth Street and finished along Main Street before heading to the fire station.
Organizer George Davies said the parade has grown by leaps and bounds.
A new participant this year was a Canada Post truck along with two “walking mailboxes” picking up letters for Santa Claus along the parade route.
“He (Santa Claus) and his elves will write back and reply to all the letters,” Davies said in an earlier interview with Cornwall Newswatch.
There was chips, hot dogs, chocolate and white milk for participants and others at the fire hall after the parade.
