CORNWALL – Residents around Gloucester Street North and Victoria Avenue awoke to loud bangs Wednesday morning after a drug bust in the area.

A resident who lives in the neighbourhood said they heard “two loud pops” and then, after a couple of minutes, about “three to four loud bomb sounds” around 6:30 a.m.

Few details were available Wednesday afternoon, though Const. Dan Cloutier did confirm to Cornwall Newswatch that a drug warrant was executed on Victoria Avenue.

More details are expected later as police continue their investigation.
