AKWESASNE – Police are hoping someone may have information after two men were viciously beaten with a baseball bat early Friday morning (Oct. 13).
Akwesasne Mohawk Police say it happened just after midnight at a home on the Quebec portion of the First Nation.
A 20-year-old Akwesasne man was airlifted to a Burlington, Vt. hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries while a 31-year-old Brasher Falls, N.Y. man suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released from hospital.
On Tuesday, police arrested a 26-year-old Akwesasne man and charged him with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and extortion. He is being held for a bail hearing.
But police say three other suspects are wanted in this case and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
