CORNWALL – A suspect, on the run from Cornwall law enforcement after a collision with a police vehicle, has been captured.

The Cornwall Community Police Service thanked the public on its Facebook page Thursday night, saying Jason Copp had been arrested without incident.

Copp is now facing several charges.

Police had boxed in the stolen vehicle when it rammed a police cruiser.

The vehicle was later found early Wednesday morning in the area of Bedford Street and First Street, where police were able to arrest a female suspect.

A man had run away and police had considered him “unpredictable and desperate” as he was trying to find a way to leave the city. That’s when police put out an appeal for tips, which led to his capture.

More details were expected to be released this morning (Friday), police said.
